Fokker S.III was a two -seater biplane with relatively thick wings profiles. It was powered by the Mercedes engine, established and flew in 1923. Remarkable is the exhaust of the Mercedes engine that looks like a chimney and it sometimes also blew smoke rings when the engine was running slowly. A total of 30 pieces were made for the Dutch Air Force. Two got to Denmark. One aircraft came to the USA where the Wrilwind engine got. They served from 1924 to 1938, when they were replaced by other types (S-9).
